7 in the name of Al-Hilal.. 7 in the name of Al-Merrikh and 5 Al-Ahly
The 29th edition of the Premier League Championship will start in a different way than the league was in the past, due to the circumstances of the war taking place in Sudan. Four safe states will witness the start of the competition amid anticipation from sports fans. The most prominent thing in the new Premier League is the large number of clubs for the first time in the history of the Premier League.
50 clubs in the Premier League
The Premier League is the first in Sudan and it has become the dream of all Sudanese clubs to reach the Premier League. The Premier League was launched in 1996 with the participation of 10 clubs, and the wheel of the Premier League continued to turn until it reached the 29th version, which will be launched with a new system in light of the current circumstances that the beloved country is experiencing. There are clubs that have risen and fallen, and there are clubs that have fallen and have not risen again except for the two top teams, Al-Hilal and Al-Merreikh, as they remained present in all previous versions of the Premier League. Now, after the rise of new clubs, the number of Premier League clubs has reached 50 clubs in full, and these clubs have had the honor of participating in the strongest sports competitions in Sudan.
7 clubs promoted for the first time
For the first time in the history of the Premier League, 7 clubs were promoted at once. This came after the General League train qualifying for the Premier League reached the final station, and with the presence of those clubs, and after the outbreak of war in the country and due to the inability to complete the competition, the General Federation decided to promote all the clubs that reached the final stage, which are Al-Mirghani Kassala, Al-Ahly Madani, Al-Merrikh Nyala, Al-Merrikh Al-Abyad, Al-Zamala Umm Rawaba, Al-Hilal Al-Managil and Umm Maghd Al-Kamlin.
Absence of relegation from the league
One of the reasons for the presence of 25 clubs in the new version is that no clubs were relegated last season, as the competition was not completed, which made the General Federation cancel the relegation process and give all clubs the opportunity to be present in the new version of the Premier League Championship.
