Sudan has a new coach. The Sudanese Football Association (SFA) has appointed former Moroccan goalkeeper Ezzaki Badou. The SFA announced that Badou will work with the former Moroccan striker, Youssef Fartout, as an assistant
He succeeds Burhan Tia whose contract was not renewed after the poor performance of Sudan in the African Championship of Nations TotalEnergies 2022 (CHAN) held in Algeria earlier this year.
Ezzaki Badou will therefore be in charge of the Sudanese national team for the double confrontation against Gabon for the CAN 2023 qualifiers on March 23 and 27. Sudan (3 pts) is currently third in Group I ahead of the DRC (0 pts) and behind Gabon and Mauritania, which each have four points.
